Airman First Class Joshua Blumenthal is a hornist with the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America and performs in the Concert Band, the Ceremonial Band, and the Midwest Winds. Prior to his current position, A1C Blumenthal served four years as co-principal horn in the Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra based in Nishinomiya, Japan. Additionally, he has performed with the North Carolina Symphony, North Carolina Ballet, Virginia Symphony, Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa, and Osaka Century Orchestra. He was a member of the Daraja Ensemble, the Graduate Fellowship Woodwind Quintet at the University of Maryland from 2015-2017. This quintet was one of two flagship ensembles at the School of Music and dedicated to outreach, education, and adventurous, engaging programming. A1C Blumenthal has also participated in the Pacific Music Festival, Chautauqua Music Festival, Bowdoin International Music Festival, and the Hot Springs Music Festival. Joshua's primary teachers are Eric Ruske, Richard 'Gus' Sebring, and Gregory Miller.
