Airman 1st Class Max Lin

A1C Lin is a flutist with the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America, where he performs in the Concert Band, Ceremonial Band and Midwest Winds.

A native of New Berlin, Wisconsin, A1C Lin is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance in 2019. During his time at the Eastman School, A1C Lin was also a dual degree student at the University of Rochester where he simultaneously completed a Bachelor of Arts in Economic Sciences. A1C Lin also completed a Master of Music in Flute Performance at Carnegie Mellon University with an Advanced Musical Studies Certificate in 2022.

A1C Lin’s teachers and inspirers are Lorna McGhee, Bonita Boyd, Anne Harrow and Judith Ormond. As a performer, A1C Lin has participated in the Blossom Music Festival, Orford Music Academy and the Sewanee Summer Music Festival. A1C Lin has placed in the Flute Society of Kentucky’s Collegiate Artist Competition, the Eastern Connecticut Concerto Competition and the Couer D’Alene Young Artist Competition. A1C Lin has made appearances with the Cleveland Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, New World Symphony, US Army Field Band and the Eastman Wind Ensemble.
