Airman First Class (A1C) Daniel Gelman enlisted in the Air Force in May 2021. He completed Basic Military Training in June 2021 and started his position as a trumpet player with the Heritage of America Band in July 2021. He started out his Air Force career playing with the Heritage Brass ensemble but is currently performing as a member of the Concert Band and the Rhythm in Blue Jazz Ensemble.
Prior to Joining the Air Force, A1C Gelman earned a bachelor’s degree in Trumpet Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music. During this time, he had the opportunity to play all over the world in various ensembles including the Aspen Music Festival, Spoleto USA, and AIMS. He has also played in several professional ensembles including but not limited to the Merced Symphony, Columbus Project Opera, and the Virginia Symphony. His former teachers include Mark Inouye, Adam Luftman, Michael Sachs, Tom Hooten, and Jennifer Marotta.
