Airman First Class (A1C) Evan Drumm is a trombonist with the United States Air Force Band of the West at Joint Base San Antonio Lackland, Texas. A1C Drumm earned a Bachelor of Instrumental Music Education (2017) and Master of Music in Jazz Studies and Music Production (2019) from the University of Central Oklahoma where his primary teachers were Jeff Kidwell and Lee Rucker.
Before starting his Air Force Career, A1C Drumm was an active performer and teacher in the Oklahoma City area. Drumm has performed with the Fountain City Brass Band, Frontier Brass Band, The Temptations, Oklahoma City Jazz Orchestra, and Edmond Jazz Orchestra. He was a finalist in the American Trombone Workshop National Jazz Solo Competition in 2020 and received an “Outstanding Soloist Award” at the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival in 2018. Drumm was also an audio engineer for Fountain City Brass Band’s winning virtual performance at the inaugural Cory Online Brass Band Championship in 2020. In his free time, A1C Drumm enjoys trying new foods, learning new software, and retro video-gaming.
