Senior Airman Chris Helms is a native of Alabama where he attended Troy University to obtain his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. Following graduation, he accepted a position as Assistant Director of Bands at Smiths Station High School in Smiths, Alabama. His duties included teaching beginning woodwinds, marching band, concert band, and leading jazz ensembles. While teaching school, SrA Helms maintained an active schedule as a church pianist and freelance saxophonist. He joined the Air Force in 2020 and was assigned to JBSA Lackland, TX. In his spare time, Airman Helms enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his wife and kids.
