SrA Josh Cote is a Regional Bandsman Journeyman with the USAF Band of the Golden West, stationed at Travis Air Force Base, CA. In his current role, he performs as a French horn player with the ensemble and leads the marketing team, overseeing the promotion and outreach efforts for the band. Previously, he also led the IT team, contributing to the technological needs of the unit.
A1C Cote began his music studies at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, where he studied under Greg Hustis. His journey took him to Oslo, Norway, where he trained with Froydis de Wikre during a winter study. He then moved to Los Angeles to study at the Colburn Conservatory of Music with Andrew Bain, principal horn of the LA Philharmonic. He spent two years as a horn fellow with the New World Symphony under Michael Tilson Thomas before securing a position as fourth horn with the Sarasota Orchestra. Following a season in Sarasota, he relocated to Philadelphia, where he won the Principal Horn positions of the Reading Symphony Orchestra and the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra. A1C Cote's Air Force career began in August 2020 when he entered Basic Military Training at JBSA Lackland, TX, and subsequently joined the Band of the West.
