Airman 1st Class Josh Cote

Josh Cote has performed the French horn with many orchestras including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, and Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Sarasota Orchestra, Virginia Symphony, and Delaware Symphony Orchestra. He has spent his summers at the Tanglewood Music Center, Pacific Music Festival, Festival Mozaic, Spoleto USA Festival, Music Academy of the West and the National Repertory Orchestra. Josh began his music studies at Southern Methodist University in Dallas studying with Greg Hustis, spent a winter in Oslo Norway learning from Froydis de Wikre, moved to Los Angeles where he studied at the Colburn Conservatory of Music with Andrew Bain, principal horn of the LA Philharmonic. He then spent two years at the New World Symphony as a horn fellow under Michael Tilson Thomas. After winning fourth horn of the Sarasota Orchestra and playing a season, Josh moved to Philadelphia to marry his lifelong love, Evelyn. In Pennsylvania, Josh won Principal Horn of the Reading Symphony Orchestra and Annapolis Symphony Orchestra and appeared with many of the region's orchestras. In the fall of 2020, Josh fulfilled a lifelong desire to return to his birth-state of Texas and joined the USAF Band of the West. Outside the concert hall, Josh maintains a large private studio and enjoys the great outdoors.
