Technical Sergeant Cara N. Dailey

Technical Sgt. Cara N. Dailey is a flutist with the Concert Band. Originally from Arlington, Texas, she joined The United States Air Force Band in 2021. 

Before joining the Air Force, Sgt. Dailey performed with the Alabama, Waco, and Temple Symphony Orchestras and taught at Baylor University and McLennan Community College. An active performer on both flute and piccolo, Dailey received first prize in the National Flute Association’s Piccolo Artist Competition in 2016. Previously, Dailey was the consortium instructor of flute at the University of Evansville, flutist of the Harlaxton Woodwind Quintet, and principal flute with the Evansville Philharmonic. Prior to her position in Evansville, Dailey performed with the Louisville, Kalamazoo, and Owensboro Symphony Orchestras, and joined the the American Wind Symphony Orchestra for their 2009 Great Lakes Tour.

A 2011 graduate of Baylor University, Sgt. Dailey received a Bachelor of Music degree in flute performance. She then earned her Master of Music degree in flute performance from Northwestern University in 2013. Her primary teachers include Helen Ann Shanley, Walfrid Kujala, and John Thorne.
