The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

Technical Sergeant Shaun Branam

Technical Sgt. Shaun Branam is a trumpeter with the Concert Band, the United States Air Force Band, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. Originally from Lawrenceville, GA, his career in the Air Force began in 2019.

Before joining the Air Force, Branam freelanced and studied in Atlanta, GA. He has performed with the Aspen Music Festival, Spoleto Festival USA, Pacific Music Festival, and National Orchestral Institute. He has also performed with the New World Symphony, Greenville Symphony, and Dekalb Symphony.

A graduate of Columbus State University, Branam received a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 2010. He earned a Master of Music degree from Indiana University in 2012. Branam is also working towards a Doctorate in Musical Arts from the University of Georgia. His teachers include Philip Smith, John Rommel, Rob Murray, and Moffatt Williams.
