Staff Sergeant Brad Femiak is an Audio Engineer for the United States Air Force Band of Mid America. The 60-member unit, composed of eight musical ensembles, performs more than 350 missions annually throughout a ten-state area of responsibility as an ambassador of the Air Force and Air Mobility Command. The unit’s mission is to honor our nation and its military, inspire and invigorate the resiliency of Airman and their families, and connect with both the American public and vital regional and national partners to build trust and advocate for our nation’s strategic defense priorities.
A native of Toronto, Canada, SSgt Femiak is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario where he earned a Bachelor of Musical Arts (Music Education). He began his military career as a member of the United States Air Force Band of the West, Lackland AFB, Texas in 2000, serving as an Audio Engineer. In 2006 he was assigned to the United States Band of the Pacific, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska where he served as an Audio Engineer. In 2012 he was assigned to the Heritage of America Band, Joint Base Langley-Eustis where he served as an Audio Engineer.
While assigned to the Band of the West, SSgt Femiak has participated multiple international tours to include locations including Azores, England, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Japan, Korea and Hawaii. While assigned to the Band of the Pacific, SSgt Femiak has participated in multiple international tours to locations including Guam, Japan, Kores, Indonesia, Philippine Islands, Puerto Rico and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. In 2008 he deployed to Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Iraq.
Prior to joining the Air Force he worked with Cheap Trick, RUSH, Shania Twain, ZZ Top and many others. In 1999 Brad toured with Courtney Love (from the band HOLE) on the Celebrity Skin Tour.
