The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

Technical Sergeant Samuel Allen

Technical Sgt. Samuel Allen is a tenor vocalist with the Singing Sergeants. Originally from  Sterling, VA, he joined The United States Air Force Band in 2020.

Prior to his enlistment, Sgt. Allen sang with the National Cathedral Choir, The Thirteen, Cathedra, Washington Performing Arts, the Spoleto Festival, and the Staunton Music Festival. He currently sings in the professional choir at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception under the direction of Peter Latona.

During a recent deployment to the Middle East, Sgt. Allen was able to perform for thousands of deployed troops throughout six different countries in the region.

Sgt. Allen received a Bachelor of Music in voice from James Madison University in 2016 where he studied under Professor Kevin McMillan.
