Staff Sergeant Michael Horrigan

Staff Sergeant Michael Horrigan, a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a bassist with the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. He performs with both the Shades of Blue jazz ensemble and the Concert Band. In addition to his musical duties, he serves as the Vehicle Control Officer and Operations Clerk.

Sergeant Horrigan entered the Air Force in August 2018. Prior to joining, he performed extensively throughout the Midwest as both a bandleader and sideman in a variety of ensembles. He studied jazz performance at Western Michigan University under respected artists including Tom Knific, Dr. Scott Cowan, Matthew Fries, Dr. Andrew Rathbun, and Ed Simon.
