Senior Airman Scott Davis is a percussionist with the United States Air Force Band of the Pacific-Hawaii at
Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. He currently performs with Hana Hou and Papana. Originally from
Augusta, Georgia, his Air Force career began in June 2019. In 2024, he deployed to the Middle East
supporting Operation Inherent Resolve with the rock group, “Hana Hou”, performing in Qatar, Saudi Arabia,
Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates as part of the AFCENT Band.
Born and raised in Georgia, Airman Davis completed his Bachelor’s in Music Education with a Minor in Jazz
Music at the University of Georgia where he studied under Timothy K Adams, Jr. and Kimberly Toscano
Adams. He served as principal percussionist with the UGA Hodgson Wind Ensemble while also performing
with other groups such as the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble,
Jazz Ensemble I and II, Jazz Combo, Contemporary Chamber Ensemble, and Redcoat Marching Band. He
has had the pleasure of performing alongside Craig Hella Johnson, Timothy K Adams, Jr., Philip Smith,
Brandon Craswell, Connie Frigo, D. Ray McClellan, and many other professional musicians. Airman Davis has
also had the chance to work under accomplished conductors such as General Valery Mikhaylovich Khalilov,
Cynthia Johnston Turner, Jaclyn Hartenberger, Mark Cedel, Dave D’Angelo, Michael Robinson, Brett Bawcum,
and many others. He has recently performed as a substitute/extra percussionist with the Hawaii Symphony
Orchestra.
In addition to his orchestral and jazz studies, Airman Davis is very involved in the marching arts. He played
drumset for the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps (2016-2017; World Champions 2016), played drumset for
Palmetto Percussion Indoor (2015-2016), and was a featured percussion soloist for Equinox Percussion Indoor
(2018). He is a sought-after performer, clinician, teacher, and composer. He has been teaching private lessons
to aspiring percussionists since 2010, has worked with various high and middle schools since 2014, and has
been writing marching band music for schools since 2018.
