Senior Airman Stephen Spink performs as a trumpet player with the United States Air Force Heartland of America Band, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. In addition, he serves as Music Director for Offutt Brass, video editor in the Publicity Section, and co-produced the 2021 “Sounds of the Season” annual Holiday Production.
Originally from Lafayette, Colorado, Senior Airman Spink earned a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance from Baylor University in Waco, TX where he studied with Wiff Rudd, Mark Schubert, and Alex Parker. While at Baylor, he was a member of the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Ensemble, as well as a brass quintet, small Jazz Band, and trumpet ensemble.
Prior to joining the Air Force, Senior Airman Spink worked as a freelance performer and teacher in the Waco and Dallas, TX areas, performing with a variety of ensembles, including brass quintets, jazz bands, pit orchestras, and the Waco Symphony Orchestra. Recently, he also toured the Southeastern United States and recorded an album with his folk/jazz band “Medicine Man” and jazz fusion band “Days and Nights”. He currently freelances around the Omaha and Lincoln, NE areas.
