Senior Master Sergeant Matthew D. Peacock is a native of Monroe, Louisiana. He received his bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from the University of Louisiana, Monroe in 2002 and his master’s degree in Human Service Counseling and Executive Leadership from Liberty University in 2023.
In November of 2002, Senior Peacock joined the Air Force and was assigned to the USAF Band of Flight, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Matthew has served in various bands across the United States, Europe, and the Pacific. His assignments have included three separate tours with the USAFE Band in Germany, two tours with PACAF bands in Alaska and Japan, and multiple assignments with the USAF Band of the West in San Antonio, Texas, where he was most recently reassigned in December 2024
Senior Peacock is currently the Superintendent for the USAF Band of the West, JBSA-Lackland AFB, Texas. Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of collateral duties to include Resource Advisor; Section Chief of Publicity, Section Chief of Readiness, Unit Deployment Manager, NCOIC of Productions as well as NCOIC of several music performance teams across the AETC, AFCENT, PACAF, and USAFE areas of responsibility.
Senior Master Sergeant Peacock has deployed in support of African Partnership Flight, Operations Enduring Freedom, Freedom’s Sentinel, Inherent Resolve, New Dawn and Resolute Support.
