Technical Sergeant David Dormeus

Technical Sergeant David Dormeus is the Staff Arranger and Composer for the United States Air Force Band of the Pacific-Asia, Yokota Air Base, Japan. He is responsible for providing custom musical arrangements and original compositions in a variety of genres for five music performance teams. TSgt Dormeus also works directly with the Air Force Public Affairs Agency and Air and Space Forces Intellectual Property Management Office to secure copyright permissions for arrangements, recordings and live and media performances. In previous roles in the unit, he has served as the Section Chief of Operations, a Trusted Agent, a Government Purchase Card Holder and Project Officer for securing visas and immigrations documents with the Indian Embassy. Prior to this assignment, Sergeant Dormeus served as the Staff Arranger and Composer for the USAF Band of the Golden West, Travis Air Force Base, California. His military career began in 2012 as a pianist in the United States Army, serving in the 3rd Infantry Division Army Band at Fort Stewart, Georgia and the 392nd Army Band, Fort Lee, Va.

In 2023, Sergeant Dormeus deployed as the primary French Interpreter and Cultural Liaison for the 768th

Expeditionary Air Base Squadron, Air Base 101, Niger, Africa. While there, he played a crucial role during the country’s coup d’état by translating essential diplomatic documents, interpreting numerous multinational meetings and offering invaluable intelligence analysis in a joint, multi-lateral environment.

A native of Montreal, Canada, Sergeant Dormeus earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the New School University, New York City, New York. As a freelance musician, he was worked with various artists including two recording projects with Grammy Award recording artist Donnie McClurkin and was the primary pianist for the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN).
