Technical Sergeant Michael Hill joined the United States Air Force Academy Band, Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado in 2022. He currently performs as hornist with the Concert Band, Ceremonial Band, and Stellar Brass Quintet. Sergeant Hill is a native of Spring, Texas and received his Bachelor of Music degree in Horn Performance from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2012, studying under the instruction of Dr. Marcia Spence, former Commander and Conductor, 531st USAF Air National Guard Band. He then became a horn student of Dale Clevenger, Jeff Nelsen, and a brass repair apprentice of Richard Seraphinoff at Indiana University.
Sergeant Hill joined corporate America by employment in the mortgage industry serving veterans from 2013-2014. In 2015, he relocated to Houston, TX where he changed professions to the Engineering Industry for two years. After hearing the call for music again, Sergeant Hill held the position of Adjunct Professor of Horn at Lone Star College-Montgomery and hosted a private studio of seventy students. In 2018, he completed a Master of Music degree in Horn Performance at the University of Missouri and was inducted into the Pi Kappa Lambda honor society. Sergeant Hill has also had the pleasure of performing in groups such as the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Kansas City Symphony, Missouri Symphony, Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, and many more. Michael and his wife, Rebecca, have two sons to whom they both devote all of their free time!
