Technical Sergeant Alexis Lovelady

Technical Sgt. Alexis Lovelady is a French hornist with the Ceremonial Brass, The United States Air Force Band, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C.  Originally from Madison, Alabama, her career in the Air Force began in 2018 with the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band where she performed with the Concert Band and Heritage Brass.  Her career with the Ceremonial Brass began in 2020.

Before joining the Air Force, Sgt. Lovelady served as third horn in the Ocala Symphony (2015-2016) and performed regularly with the Prescott Pops, Gainesville Orchestra, Valdosta Symphony Orchestra, and Gainesville Brass Quintet.  In 2017, Lovelady toured Europe as a member of the American Chamber Winds.  She is an alumna of the Kendall Betts Horn Camp (2016, 2017) and served as a camp staff member in 2018.

A graduate of the University of North Alabama, Lovelady received a Bachelor of Science in horn performance in 2014.  She then earned her Master of Music in horn performance from the University of Florida in 2016. She is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Arizona State University. Her primary teachers are Mr. Mark Gessner (Huntsville Symphony Orchestra), Dr. David McCullough (University of North Alabama), Dr. Paul Basler (University of Florida), and Dr. John Ericson (Arizona State University).
