Master Sgt. Matthew Scollin is a bass vocalist with the Singing Sergeants, The United States Air Force Band, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. A native of Walled Lake, Michigan, his career in the Air Force Band began August 2018.
Prior to joining the Air Force, Scollin enjoyed a career as an operatic bass-baritone, performing roles with Washington National Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Opéra National de Bordeaux, Théâtre du Capitole, Pittsburgh Opera, Virginia Opera, the Glimmerglass Festival, Santa Fe Opera, Seattle Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Utah Opera, and others. He is the winner of a Career Development Award from the The William Matheus Sullivan Musical Foundation and was a finalist in the Ziering-Conlon Initiative for Recovered Voices Competition.
Scollin received his Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance from Michigan State University and his Master of Music from the University of Illinois, where he received the Jerry Hadley Memorial Scholarship.
