Senior Airman Tyler Tolles

Senior Airman Tyler Tolles is a percussionist with the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West, Travis AFB, CA. Originally from Monterey, CA, his Air Force career began in 2018.

SrA Tolles is a 2013 graduate of the University of North Texas, Denton, TX, where he earned a Bachelor’s of Music degree in Percussion Performance and a Minor in Music Theory. In 2016 he received two Master’s degrees in Percussion Performance and Jazz Studies and his Doctor of Music degree in Percussion Performance from The Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL. His primary teachers include Dr. John W. Parks IV, Christopher Deane, Mark Ford, Ed Smith, and Leon Anderson. He held the positions of principal percussionist and principal timpanist throughout his tenure with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra from 2013-2018.

He is currently serving on faculty at the University of North Alabama, where he teaches applied percussion and vibraphone lessons.
