Master Sgt. Jonathan Davies is the principal double bassist with the Concert Band Originally from Setauket, New York, his career in the Air Force began in 2018.
Prior to joining the Band, Sgt. Davies was a section member of the Cape Symphony and an active freelance musician throughout the Northeast. He also participated in music festivals such as the Pacific Music Festival, the Music Academy of the West, the Spoleto Festival USA, the National Repertory Orchestra, and the Aspen Music Festival.
Sgt. Davies earned a Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School in 2012, where he studied with Albert Laszlo. He then earned a Master of Music degree from Boston University in 2014, studying with the Boston Symphony’s principal bassist Edwin Barker.
