Technical Sergeant Quincy L. Brown is a percussionist with the United States Air Force Band of the Pacific at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.
A native of Detroit, Michigan, TSgt Brown started his military career at Ft Hood, TX as a Chemical Operations Specialist in the Army, and served one year in Iraq. After separation, TSgt Brown earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Business from Wayne State University and a Master's degree in Music Performance from the University of Michigan, where he studied with Joseph Gramley, Jonathan Ovalle, Ian Ding, Brian Jones, and toured with the Symphony Band to China. While earning his degrees, TSgt Brown served as a graduate student instructor at the University of Michigan, taught percussion at both Blanchette Middle School and the Sphinx Preparatory Music program, and acted as a coordinator with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra's Civic Youth Ensembles. TSgt Brown performed with the Sphinx Symphony Orchestra, Grosse Pointe Symphony Orchestra, Dearborn Symphony Orchestra, and Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings. He joined the United States Air Force in 2012 to perform with the USAF Academy Band at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado.
