Master Sergeant Jason Covey

Master Sergeant Jason Covey is a trumpeter with the Ceremonial Brass, The United States Air Force Band, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington D.C. A native of South Haven, Michigan, his Air Force career began in 2017.

 

Prior to joining the Air Force, Sgt. Covey was an active freelance trumpeter in New York City. He had the privilege of performing with many ensembles including the New York Philharmonic, Atlanta Symphony, Orchestra of St. Lukes, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, American Ballet Theater and the American Symphony Orchestra. As a Broadway musician, Sergeant Covey was a member of the orchestras for Mary Poppins, On The Town and The King and I and was a substitute on numerous others. He was also a member of the orchestras for NBC’s live productions of The Sound of Music and Peter Pan and has appeared on CBS, ABC and Bravo. 

 

Sgt. Covey earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Western Michigan University in 2001 and a Masters of Music degree from The Juilliard School in 2003. His teachers include Scott Thornburg, Raymond Mase and James Pandolfi.
