Tech Sergeant Logan Keese

Technical Sgt. Logan Keese is the fourth trumpet player with the Airmen of Note, The United States Air Force Band, Joint Base
Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. A native of Houston, Texas, his United States Air Force career began in 2012 when he joined United States Air Force Band of the West, Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Before joining The United States Air Force, Keese toured with the rock ensemble "The Polyphonic Spree" internationally from 2003-2005. In addition, Keese worked as a local professional musician and trumpet instructor for numerous students in the San Antonio area. He has studied with a number of highly-regarded instructors including Jay Saunders, Michael Stienel, Alan Dean, and John Murphy.

Air Force musical highlights for Sgt. Keese include performances with such jazz luminaries as Wayne Bergeron, Peter Erskine, CMSgt (Ret.) Joe Eckert and Bradley Robinson. Furthermore, Keese was a featured soloist on Eric Richard’s composition Fantasy for Trumpet and Jazz Orchestra while a member of the Air Force Band of the West’s jazz ensemble Dimensions in Blue, performing the piece live in several settings. Live recorded video of those performances subsequently won third place in the Air Force media competition for Best Live Instrumental Performance.

Keese pursued five semesters of study in the Jazz Department at the University of North Texas where he played under the direction of Mr. Jim Riggs in the Two O'Clock Lab Band. In 2009 Keese earned a bachelor's degree in Orchestral Performance from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
