Master Sergeant Logan Keese

Master Sgt. Logan Keese is a trumpeter with the Airmen of Note. A native of Houston, Texas, his Air Force career began in 2012 when he joined The Band of the West at Joint Base San Antonio, before joining The United States Air Force Band in 2017.

Air Force musical highlights for Sgt. Keese include performances with such jazz luminaries as Wayne Bergeron, Peter Erskine, CMSgt (Ret.) Joe Eckert and Bradley Robinson. Furthermore, he was a featured soloist on Eric Richard’s composition Fantasy for Trumpet and Jazz Orchestra while a member of the Air Force Band of the West’s jazz ensemble Dimensions in Blue, performing the piece live in several settings. Live recorded video of those performances subsequently won third place in the Air Force media competition for Best Live Instrumental Performance.

Before joining the United States Air Force, Sgt. Keese toured with the rock ensemble "The Polyphonic Spree" internationally from 2003-2005. In addition, he worked as a local professional musician and trumpet instructor for numerous students in the San Antonio area. He has studied with a number of highly-regarded instructors including Jay Saunders, Michael Stienel, Alan Dean, and John Murphy.

Sgt. Keese pursued five semesters of study in the Jazz Department at the University of North Texas where he played under the direction of Mr. Jim Riggs in the Two O' Clock Lab Band. In 2009, he earned a Bachelor's degree in orchestral performance from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
