1st Lieutenant Wilson Wise

1st Lt. Wilson Wise, a native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi serves as the Flight Commander and Associate Conductor of the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America, Scott Air Force Base, lllinois.

Lt. Wise commissioned from Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama in August 2013.  Prior to joining the Air Force, he served as Director of Bands at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. Previously he held positions at the University of Oklahoma working with the university bands and saxophone studio. Wise taught high school band in Mississippi for five years with the last three years as director of bands with the Poplarville School District.

He earned a DMA in Instrumental Conducting University of Oklahoma as a conducting student of Dr. William Wakefield. Wise holds a MM in saxophone performance from the same institution where he studied with Dr. Gail Hall and a Bachelor's Degree in music education from Mississippi College as a conducting and saxophone student of Dr. Craig Young.

Professional memberships include College Band Directors National Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Kappa Kappa Psi, and North American Saxophone Alliance.
