Senior Master Sergeant Lindsey Bartlett

SMSgt Lindsey M. Bartlett currently holds the position of Band Superintendent for the Air National Guard Band of the West Coast, 146th Airlift Wing, Channel Islands AGS, Calif.  As superintendent, she is responsible for day to day supervision and mentorship of band personnel in their conduct of operations, logistics, publicity, resource management, training and readiness.

SMSgt Bartlett enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1996 as a Bassoonist for the USAF Band of the Golden West, Travis AFB.  During her tenure as an active duty bandsman she served as an Operations Manager and Public Affairs Representative responsible for the appropriate and efficient utilization of military musical forces at live events such as Rose Bowl Parades, 9/11 Commemorations, Hollywood TV events such as the History Channel’s Veterans Awards and The Price is Right, POTUS visits and President Reagan’s Interment Ceremony.  

In 2007, SMSgt Bartlett transferred to the California Air National Guard as a member of the Air National Guard Band of the West Coast, 129th Rescue Wing (RQW) Moffett Air National Guard Base (ANGB), Mountain View, Calif..  While assigned to this Band she deployed twice, once as a member of Team Bucket, for Operation Lightning Strike, fighting California Wild Fires, and the second time, in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM, traveling through Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Qatar, as an operations manager and sound technician for the AFCENT Rock Band, Sonora. During this deployment, SMSgt Bartlett was the unit’s liaison officer coordinating and collaborating with joint and coalition forces, and managing all aspects of unit travel. SMSgt Bartlett then held the position of First Sergeant for the 561st AF Band, the 129 RQW Medical Group, and as the 129 RQW Wing First Sergeant.  Her last assignment as a First Sergeant was to the 387th Air Expeditionary Squadron (AES), in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE, where as a member of the 387 AES staff, provided ADCON and OPCON support for 195 Joint Expeditionary Tasked/Individually Assigned personnel assigned to 4 Directorates, located in 8 countries, functioning in 77 different Air Force Specialty Codes.  Prior to returning to the band program, SMSgt Bartlett was the Human Resource Advisor for the 129 RQW where she was charged with developing cultural competencies by leading and facilitating diversity initiatives, fostering an organizational culture of formal and informal mentoring, facilitating force development opportunities for optimum growth of all Airmen, while working with local organizations to strengthen community partnerships.  

SMSgt Bartlett has extensive experience in both military and public/private sectors as an educator, public affairs and recruiting specialist, operations, logistics, planning and project manager. In addition to remaining active as a professional musician, SMSgt Bartlett currently holds a full-time position as an Emergency Management Exercise Planning and Development Coordinator for the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, Nev.
