A native of Hastings, Nebraska, Julia Coppoc serves as the Section Chief of Publicity for the United States Air Force Heartland of America Band at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. She obtained a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln studying under Dr. Diane Barger, and furthered her education at the University of North Texas with a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance under the direction of Dr. Kimberly Cole-Luevano.
Julia’s prior military experience includes serving as a clarinet player with the 43rd Army National Guard Band in Lincoln, Nebraska, as well as the 77th Army Band at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Within these groups, she actively participated in several ensembles, including the woodwind quintet, clarinet quartet, concert band, and ceremonial band. She was also a key Unit Public Affairs Representative (UPAR) for the 77th Army Band, acting as photographer, social media manager, graphic designer, and video production assistant. One video project to which Julia contributed was the winner of the 2020 Army vs Navy Spirit Video Contest, which was broadcast live at the 2020 Army-Navy football game and on national television.
Outside of the military, Julia was Marketing Coordinator and Photographer for the Wichita Falls Convention & Visitors Bureau and Multi-Purpose Events Center (MPEC) in Wichita Falls, Texas. She had the privilege of photographing shows with high-profile artists including Gabriel Iglesias, Casting Crowns, Pecos & The Rooftops, Nate Bargatze and more. As a musician, Julia continues to perform in her local church, as well as teaching private lessons.
