Senior Master Sergeant Gregory Koger

Senior Master Sergeant Greg Koger has performed as a trumpeter and guitarist for the Air National Guard Band of the Midwest since February 1978. He has been involved in USAF and ANG Band performances seen and heard by well over two million people--to include congressional representatives, our governor, military dignitaries, the Secretary General of the United Nations, the Queen of Denmark, and the President of the United States. As a military bugler throughout his career, Senior Master Sergeant Koger has had the unique honor of performing Taps at military installations, funerals, and ceremonies for many American servicemen and women who have served or gave the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country. SMSgt Koger has deployed to Southeast Asia in 2007 and served in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa as a guitarist and musical director for the original AFCENT band, Thunder Roll. The Air Force Commendation Medal is but one of the many decorations SMSgt Koger has been awarded as a citizen soldier in the Illinois Air National Guard. In his civilian capacity, SMSgt Koger hails from, and has family in, the Chicagoland area, where he also owns and operates a small business in the digital engineering copier industry.
