Technical Sergeant Edward Vaughen

Technical Sergeant Edward Vaughen is the Associate Conductor and percussion soloist with the Air National Guard Band of the Mid-Atlantic. Originally from Pontiac, Michigan, his Air Force career began in 1993.

Sergeant Vaughen graduated from Manheim Township High School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He holds a Bachelors degree in Music Education from Millersville University, Millersville, Pennsylvania, a Masters degree in Music Education from West Chester University, West Chester, Pennsylvania and a Masters degree in Conducting from Messiah College, Grantham, Pennsylvania.

Sergeant Vaughen currently resides in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He spent 20 years as a Band & Orchestra Director in the Manheim Township School District. He now works as an Organizational Development Manager for Traffic Control Services. He also serves as Timpanist and Xylophone Soloist with the Lancaster British Bass Band and is a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lancaster, PA

Sergeant Vaughen is a Distinguished Graduate of Airman Leadership School, Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts, where he was chosen as the Levitow Award recipient. He is also a graduate of the Non-Commissioned Officer Academy correspondence course.

Sergeant Vaughen's awards and decorations include the Air Force Achievement Medal, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award (3), the Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal (4), National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service (2), Armed Forces Reserve Medal and the USAF NCO PME Graduate Ribbon.
