Master Sergeant Lori M. McCarty Master Sergeant Lori McCarty is a vocalist for the Air National Guard Band of the Mid-Atlantic. She serves as the Unit Deployment Manager for the band. Originally from Bowmansville, Pennsylvania, her Air Force career began in 2000. Sergeant McCarty graduated from Garden Spot High School in New Holland, Pennsylvania. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with concentrations in Vocal Performance, Jazz Studies and Music Composition from Lebanon Valley College, Annville, Pennsylvania, where she was a student of Phillip Morgan. She is a vocalist with High Altitude and The Guardsmen combo, and has performed with Brass in Blue on the tuba. Sergeant McCarty currently resides in Marietta, Pennsylvania. She performs as vocalist for the New Holland Dance Band, backup vocalist with Mitch and the Mood Swings, and has performed with the women's a cappella group Marmalade and the Lebanon Community Band. She sings at many military and civic events, and has performed the National Anthem at events such as NASCAR's Pocono 500 and the opening of the Pennsylvania Farm Show in 2003. Sergeant McCarty's awards and decorations include the Air Force Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Army Commendation Medal, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with four oak leaf clusters; the Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters; the National Defense Service Medal; the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; the Air Force Longevity Service medal with one oak leaf cluster; and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with one 'M' device.
