Senior Airman Simon Thomsen Senior Airman Simon Thomsen is a percussionist with the Air National Guard Band of the Northeast. Residing in Weston, CT, Airman Thomsen enlisted in the United States Air Force Air National Guard in 2010. Prior to joining the Air National Guard Band of the Northeast, SrA Thomsen was a member of the 562nd Air Force Band in Southern California. Airman Thomsen graduated from Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk, CT. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in music/sound recording technology from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, MA. Airman Thomsen is currently a professional audio assistant with NBC Sports. Senior Airman Thomsen has toured internationally with the ScrapArts Music Percussion Ensemble between the years of 2003 - 2010. While a member of this ensemble, he collaborated and performed with the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra, Dame Evelyn Glennie, Luis Conte, and many other notable percussionists from across the globe. Airman Thomsen is also an avid composer, tennis player, skier, and hiker. While serving with the 562nd Air Force Band, SrA Thomsen was named the Airman of the Year in 2011. His other awards and decorations include the Basic Training Honor Graduate Ribbon.
