Senior Airman Carl Stanley

Senior Airman Carl Stanley is a trumpet player with the Air National Guard Band of the Northeast. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area in California, SrA Stanley enlisted in the United States Air Force in 2009 at the age of 24, first serving as an active-duty musician with the Heritage of America Band stationed at Langley Air Force Base, VA.

SrA Stanley graduated from Castro Valley High School in 2003. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from California State University- Hayward, graduating with honors and is currently completing a Master of Music (MM) from Yale University.

Currently living in New Haven, Connecticut, he is a full-time student at Yale University. SrA Stanley worked briefly as a financial planner and marketing assistant before pursuing his passion for music and public affairs with the Air Force. When he isn't practicing or studying, in his spare time he enjoys listening to vinyl records, running through East Rock Park in New Haven, and spending time with his friends and family.

SrA Stanley's awards and decorations include the Air Force Achievement Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.
