Technical Sergeant Grace Huntoon

Technical Sergeant (TSgt) Grace Huntoon currently serves as a vocalist with the Full Spectrum rock group, and oboist with the United States Air Force (USAF) Heritage of America Band. TSgt Huntoon is an integral part of the Productions staff as an experienced video editor and is also a part of the band’s resources team. TSgt Huntoon was a vocalist in the USAF Heritage of America Band’s Blue Aces rock group for their 2018 deployment, in support of Operations Inherent Resolve and Freedom’s Sentinel. A highlight of this deployment was appearing on an Afghan radio broadcast alongside the only female journalist since the fall of the Taliban.

In 2017, Sergeant Huntoon was a featured oboe soloist on the Heritage of America Band’s Concert Band tour of New York. Earlier in her career, she had the opportunity to perform for radio and television broadcasts of “Music and the Spoken Word” with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, under the direction of Dr. Craig Jessup. She also played the bagpipes as part of the USAF Bagpipe Band, performing at the United States Capitol twice for the Presidential Saint Patrick’s Day Luncheon, the 2006 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and the 2007 New York Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. Prior to joining the Air Force, TSgt Huntoon attended the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music as an Oboe Performance Major. Her primary oboe teachers were Dr. Mark Ostoich and Karen Barnick-Pfeiffer.
