Technical Sergeant Brian Logan

Technical Sergeant Brian Logan performs on euphonium with the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America based out of Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. He performs with Airlifter Brass, Concert Band, and Ceremonial Band.  Currently, TSgt Logan overseas the marketing team, engaging a civilian and active duty team to maximize the attendance and platform of 6 performing ensembles in the Midwest Region.
 
TSgt Brian Logan joined the USAF in January of 2017 as a Regional Band Apprentice on the Euphonium. Prior to enlisting, he engaged in extensive musical training. He earned his Bachelor of Music Degree in Euphonium Performance in 2012 from the University of Alabama. While augmenting his studies with economics concentrations for the Kellog School of Business, he earned his Master of Music Degree from Northwestern University in 2014. In 2018, he completed his Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the Frost School of Music at University of Miami, being named 1 of 12 distinguished graduates for the entire graduating class. His education culminated with the completion of his Associate’s Degree from Air University in 2019. TSgt Logan distinguished himself as a preeminent figure in his field, performing with the Huxford Symphony Orchestra, Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, South Florida Symphony, Florida Grand Opera, and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. TSgt Logan has performed in the Leonard Falcone Artist Euphonium Competition and the International Tuba Euphonium Conference Artist Competition Solo and Mock Military Band segments multiple times. He was also a winner of the Birmingham Music Club Guild Fellowship. TSgt Logan published “A Comparative Analysis of Techniques of Euphonium and Vocal Performance Using Acoustical Properties” through the University of Miami Press in December 2018.
 

Since joining the Air Force, TSgt Logan has served as a tour planner for 6 unique musical ensembles. His responsibilities included overseeing the concert schedule and operations of the 11-piece brass and percussion group, touring a 15-state area region and since his appointment to the USAFE Band, a 104-Nation area of responsibility.  He served as the Assistant Director of Operations for the USAFE-AFAFRICA Band and NCOIC of Five Star Brass.  He leveraged a $600K O&M Budget to place 7 information warfare assets in two COCOMS, he trained and equipped a 6-member team of tour planners, oversaw an 11-member protocol team, and guided his 6-member performance team on a variety of ceremonial, bilateral, and building partnership capacity missions.
