Master Sergeant Alan M. Baylock

Master Sgt. Alan Baylock is a staff arranger with the United States Air Force Band, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. Originally from Ebensburg, Pennsylvania, his Air Force career began in 1996.

A graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory, Baylock earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1990. In 1995, he earned a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas.

Sergeant Baylock has written music for some of the top names in the music industry, including Joe Lovano, Michael Brecker, Freddie Hubbard, Maynard Ferguson, Paquito D'Rivera, Wynonna, Roy Clark, Clint Black and Ronan Tynan. In his off-duty time, he leads his own jazz orchestra and has been featured as guest artist and clinician throughout the country.
