Master Sergeant John Marsh

Master Sergeant John Marsh is an Audio Engineer with the United States Air Force Academy Band, Peterson SFB, CO.  Originally from Columbus, OH, his Air Force career began in 2004.  TSgt Marsh holds bachelors and master’s degrees in Trombone Performance from Capital University and Florida State University.  He also pursued doctoral work at the University of Cincinnati: College – Conservatory of Music where he was a Graduate Assistant to Professor David Vining.  His teachers include David Vining, Dr. John Drew, Dr. Tom Zugger, and D. Scott Moore.


From 2004 till 2016, TSgt Marsh was a trombonist with the USAF Band of the West and United States Air Forces in Europe Band, performing throughout the southern US and Europe, as well as Japan.  In 2016, he transitioned to being an Audio Engineer and has performed throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East.  He has worked with guest artists and foreign military partners, including tours with the Serbian Military’s Binički Band, the Burkina Faso Military Band, and the Luxembourg Military Band (Musique militaire grand-ducale).  MSgt Marsh has engineered numerous video projects and several CD releases. He joined the Academy Band in June of 2021 and works regularly with the Falconaires Jazz Ensemble.
