Master Sergeant Ben Huseby

Master Sergeant Ben Huseby is a Trombonist, Vocalist, and Section Chief of Operations with the Band of the Pacific - Asia, Yokota Air Base, Japan.  Originally a native of Powers Lake, North Dakota, his Air Force career began in 2011.  

Upon completion of Basic Military Training in 2011, MSgt Huseby was assigned to the Heartland of America Band at Offutt AFB, NE.  In 2013, he transitioned to the United States Air Forces in Europe Band at Ramstein Air Base, Germany where he served as a Music Director and Assistant Director of Operations.  After 5 years in Germany, MSgt Huseby relocated to the Band of the Golden West at Travis AFB, CA where he served as NCOIC of the rock band Galaxy, and Section Chief of Publicity.  In 2023, he moved to his current position with the Band of the Pacific – Asia at Yokota Air Base, Japan.

MSgt Huseby is a 2007 graduate of Minot State University, ND, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, graduating Cum Laude.  In 2010, he received a Master’s Degree in Music Education and Bass Trombone from Indiana University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.  In 2007, he won the Concerto competition at Minot State University and was a semi-finalist for the 2011 Zellmer-Minnesota Orchestra competition.  His primary teachers have been M. Dee Stewart, Carl Lenthe, Joseph Alme, and Dr. Shelley Smithwick.
