Staff Sergeant Joseph Larosa A native of Hartford, Connecticut, Staff Sergeant LaRosa is a clarinetist in the Air National Guard Band of the Northeast. He also serves as the unit's public affairs NCO. A graduate of Central Connecticut State University, Sergeant LaRosa holds a master's degree from Wesleyan University and recently completed course work towards a master's in education from the University of New Haven. Prior to joining the unit in 2003, he served for six years in the 102D Army Band of the Connecticut National Guard and six years in the First Co., Governor's Foot Guard of the Connecticut State Militia. A published composer, the ANGBNE premiered "Them Bones," one of his fifteen marches, on July 4, 2009, in historic Plymouth, MA. Sergeant LaRosa's musically talented family includes his vocalist wife Vivian and their trommone playing son. In his spare time, Sergeant Larosa enjoys golf and watching his favorite baseball team, the Boston Red Sox.
