Technical Sergeant Tom Kanwischer Tom Kanwischer has served as a member of the Air National Guard Band of the Midwest since 2005. He performs on trombone and electric bass. He is a member of the concert band, ceremonial band, jazz band, rock band (NCOIC) and brass quintet. In addition, his ancillary duties include recruiting and mission support. In 2012, he deployed to Qatar, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Jordan and Egypt as part of the AFCENT band Vector. TSgt Kanwischer holds degrees in Music Education from University of Illinois. He currently lives in Oak Park, Illinois where he serves as a music educator. Hometown: Batavia, IL
