Staff Sergeant Amy Chicavich

Staff Sergeant Amy L. Chicavich is a vocalist for the Air National Guard Band of the Mid-Atlantic. Originally from Chico, California, her Air Force career began in 2007 with the Heritage of America Band, an active duty band from Joint Base Langley-Eustis, VA.

SSgt Chicavich graduated from Chico High School in Chico, CA. She earned a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and Jazz Studies  from California State University, Long Beach, in Long Beach, CA. She also holds a Professional Certificate in Nutrition, Health, Wellness and Sports Nutrition from San Diego State University, CA.

Sergeant Chicavich has studied with Jeff Jarvis (Kendor Music Publishing), Christine Guter, Dr. Michael Bankhead (The USAF Band, Colonel Retired), and Dr. Jonathan Talberg.  SSgt Chicavich served with the Heritage of America Band for four years, as the lead vocalist for the rock band, "The Blue Aces".  During this time, she was also the unit's Operations Representative.   SSgt Chicavich has served across the country and in several deployed locations. 

Sergeant Chicavich currently resides in Red Oaks Mill, New York. She is a student at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, where she is earning her Bachelors of Professional Studies in Culinary Arts Management. Sergeant Chicavich is a graduate of the Airman Leadership School correspondence course.

SSgt Chicavich's awards and decorations include the Air Force Commendation Medal; the Good Conduct Medal; Air Force Outstanding Unit Award; the National Defense Medal; the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Basic Military Training Honor Graduate Medal.
