Technical Sergeant Mickey Ireland Technical Sergeant Mickey Ireland is a clarinet player with the Air National Guard Band of the Northeast. Originally from Plymouth, NH, his Air Force career began on September 20, 2005. Sergeant Ireland graduated from Plymouth Regional High School in Plymouth, NH. He holds a bachelor's degree in music education and clarinet performance from Ithaca College, which he earned in 2001. Sergeant Ireland also has a Masters' of Music in clarinet performance from Michigan State University, which he completed in 2004. Sergeant Ireland has performed with the Greater Lansing Symphony, the Battle Creek Symphony, the West Shore Symphony Orchestra, the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, the Metropolitan Wind Symphony, and the Plymouth Philharmonic. In addition he has presented clarinet and chamber music master classes at Ithaca College, the University of New Hampshire, State University of New York-Fredonia, the University of Connecticut, the University of Maine, and Keene State University. He has also performed solo recitals throughout New Hampshire, Maine, New York, and Massachusetts. Before joining the Air National Guard Band of the Northeast, Sergeant Ireland spent several years as an Active Duty Air Force Bandsmen. He was stationed with the Air Force Band of Liberty at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA from September 2005 - August 2013. While at Hanscom, Sgt Ireland had the distinct honor of performing with Michael Amante, Crystal Gayle, Maureen McGovern, and Jane Monheit. He also performed during the 2007 funeral services of former US President Gerald R. Ford. Sergeant Ireland currently resides in Massachusetts. He works as an elementary and middle school band director for the Blackstone - Millville Regional School District. Sergeant Ireland's awards and decorations include the Air Force Commendation Medal w/two oak leaf clusters, the Air Force Achievement Medal, and the USAF Basic Training Honor Graduate John Levitow Award.
