Senior Airman Katherine Tonkin is an enlisted trumpet player with the Air National Guard Band of the Northeast. She enlisted with the Band of the Northeast on July 25, 2014. Airman Tonkin plays trumpet with the Concert Band, Ceremonial Band, "High Altitude" popular music ensemble, and "Brass in Blue" brass quintet.
Airman Tonkin is a 2014 graduate of Messiah College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in Sacred Music. In her civilian career, Airman Tonkin serves as a taxpayer representative with the State of New Jersey. In her free time she enjoys riding motorcycles and completing graphic design projects.
Airman Tonkin has been awarded the Air Force Basic Training ribbon and the National Defense Service Medal.
