Technical Sergeant David Diamond Technical Sergeant David Diamond is a trumpet player with The United States Air Force Band of the Pacific-Hawaii, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Honolulu, HI. He also serves as the Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of Papana, the group's jazz ensemble. He is originally from Latham, NY. Before joining the Air Force, Sergeant Diamond was a teaching assistant in the Jazz Department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also worked as a freelance musician and brass teacher throughout the Midwest. In 2003, he joined the US Air Force Band of Flight, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Career highlights include performing for deployed troops throughout the Middle East, concertgoers all over the United States, and President George W. Bush. He has often appeared as a featured jazz and classical trumpet soloist. In addition to his duties with the Air Force, Sergeant Diamond has performed in recital several times in Ohio and Indiana, taught a master class at Bowling Green State University, performed with the Dayton Philharmonic, Springfield Symphony, and the Dayton Jazz Orchestra, and served as Trumpet Instructor at Earlham College, Richmond, IN.
