Technical Sergeant Meghan Yankowskas is a clarinetist with the USAF Band of Mid-America Concert Band and Ceremonial Band. In addition to her primary instrument, she has served as a vocalist and arranger within the Air Force Bands. A native of Londonderry, New Hampshire, Sergeant Yankowskas began her Air Force career in 2015. Prior to her current position, Sergeant Yankowskas was assigned to the United States Air Forces in Europe Band, where she served as Music Director for the unit’s trad jazz group Wings of Swing.
Sergeant Yankowskas’s accomplishments include solo performances with the National Presidential Orchestra of Ukraine and the Merrimack Valley Philharmonic Orchestra, participation in Fifth House Ensemble’s Fresh Inc. Festival, and performing and leading master classes across the United States, Europe, and Africa. She also regularly performs around the St. Louis music scene as both a solo artist and with local groups, and has been a featured performer at Make Music Day STL, ARTICA, and events in support of community nonprofits.
Two of Sergeant Yankowskas’s primary musical interests are music technology and video game music, and she is passionate about empowering other musicians who share those interests. In 2019, she presented her lecture “Beep-Boops and You: Combining Electronics with ‘Classical’ Instruments 101” at the International Clarinet Association’s Clarinetfest in Knoxville, Tennessee. Sergeant Yankowskas also served as a panelist at Super Music and Gaming Festival (Super MAGFest) 2026 in National Harbor, Maryland, where her team of Air Force bandsmen presented on programming video game and animation music within classical mediums. She currently serves as Vice President and Principal Clarinetist of the St. Louis Video Game Music Orchestra.
