Master Sergeant Joseph Philpott

Master Sergeant Joseph Philpott plays clarinet with the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America. He is a member of the Concert Band, Midwest Winds Chamber Ensemble, and Ceremonial Band. He is also the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of the Ceremonial Band.

Sergeant Philpott is a native of Conyers, Georgia. He began studying clarinet at the age of ten while performing in band, orchestra, and chamber groups with family and friends.

He holds a Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance from Northwestern University under the instruction of Russell Dagon and a Masters of Music Degree from the University of Georgia as a student of D. Ray McClellan.  Sergeant Philpott currently studies with retired St. Louis Symphony clarinetist, Tina Ward.
