Technical Sergeant Rob Hyatt, a native of Racine, Wisconsin plays trombone with the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America. He is a member of the Concert Band, Ceremonial Band, Marching Band, and Shades of Blue jazz ensemble.
Sergeant Hyatt earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Trombone
Performance from the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater in 2000 and his
Master of Music Performance/Jazz Studies degree from DePaul University in
2002. He has studied with Steve Wiest.
In 2004, Sergeant Hyatt auditioned for the U.S. Air Force Bands Music
Program, and was assigned to the USAF Band of the Reserve, Robins AFB,
Georgia. During his Air Force career he has played trombone in Concert Band,
Jazz Band, Marching Band, Ceremonial Band, and Brass Quartet/Quintets. In
2008, he was assigned to the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America,
Scott AFB, Illinois. Prior to enlisting in the United States Air Force, Sergeant Hyatt toured with Jazz Legend Maynard Ferguson as his trombonist in "Big Bop Nouveau".
