The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

Technical Sergeant Andrew Fowler

Technical Sergeant Andrew Fowler joined the United States Air Force Academy Band, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, in 2013. Recently, he joined the Band of the West in San Antonio, TX. He also deployed as a member of the AFCENT Band Blue Steel in 2017 entertaining troops and performing community outreach across Southeast Asia and Africa. 

Sergeant Fowler was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. His primary teachers include Phillip Aikman, Mike Kuntz, and Jon Burgess. In 2008, he was selected as split lead trumpet in the Disney All-American College Band under the direction of Dr. Ron McCurdy. TSgt Fowler earned a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance from Texas Christian University in 2009. His professional credits include performances with Wayne Bergeron, Jon Faddis, Mike Vax, Rich Baptist, Greg Fields, Jiggs Whigham, Adonis Rose, and Wynton Marsalis. He is also an accomplished instructor of private trumpet lessons.
