Master Sergeant L. Eugene Montgomery is a native of Henderson, Kentucky. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from Murray State University, where he studied bass trombone and euphonium with Raymond Conklin, and he received Master of Music degree from the University of Akron where he studied with Edward Zadrozny. Sergeant Montgomery has also studied with Tony Chipurn and Peter Norton of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Charles Vernon of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He has performed with the Paducah Symphony Orchestra, Paducah, Kentucky, the Jackson Symphony Orchestra, Jackson, Tennessee, the American Institute of Musical Studies Festival Orchestra, Graz, Austria, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, Dayton, Ohio, the Northern Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, Highland Heights, Kentucky, and the Colorado Springs Philharmonic. Sergeant Montgomery became a member of The United States Air Force Academy Band in August 1997 and performs with the Concert Band, Marching Band, and the Falconaires Jazz Ensemble.
