Technical Sergeant Michael Henrie

Technical Sergeant (TSgt) Michael D. Henrie, raised in McCammon, Idaho (now a legal resident of Alaska) serves as a percussionist and drum set artist in the United States Air Force (USAF) Heritage of America Band. Additionally, he serves as the band's Facility Manager.  After graduating high school in Michigan, he served a two-year service mission in California.  He then completed his Associate, Bachelor, and Master of Music degrees in Percussion Performance from Brigham Young University. Prior to joining the USAF he held the Associate Professor of Music - Director of Percussion positions at Utah Valley University and Snow College in Utah and Mercer University in Georgia. He continues to run a private teaching studio while sharing clinics and adjudicating across the country.
 
In addition to recording with and leading his own jazz quartet, TSgt Henrie has shared the stage with Earth Wind and Fire, Toby Keith, Dirks Bentley, Lee Greenwood, Restless Heart, Maureen McGovern, Sandi Patty, Grace Potter, Ben E. King, Christopher Lloyd, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the Macon GA Symphony, the Anchorage AK Symphony, and the Anchorage Concert Chorus and has participated in various recording projects, to include the "Xena: Warrior Princess" Television series and an appearance on the Conan O'Brien Show. He has performed for Presidents George H.W. Bush, William J. Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack H. Obama, and Donald J. Trump.  He has recorded 3 CDs with the USAF, to include an original composition released in 2020.

In 2009, upon returning from his second of three deployments, TSgt Henrie founded and served two years as the Program Director for Project Healing Waters Alaska - a nonprofit group whose mission is to help wounded soldiers and veterans heal emotionally and physically through fly fishing. He served nearly 2 decades as a Scout Master and Merit Badge Counselor for the Boy Scouts of America.  TSgt Henrie continues to enjoy spending time outdoors with his family at his cabins in Western NC, fishing and hunting at his property in Alaska, and filming productions with his aerial photography company.
