Master Sergeant Kelly Longmire

Master Sergeant (MSgt) Kelly Longmire, a native of Durham, North Carolina, serves as an oboist for the United States Air Force (USAF) Heritage of America Band. MSgt Longmire earned a Bachelor of Music degree as well as an Advanced Performance certificate from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, in 2007. She then attended the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, Connecticut, where she obtained her Master of Music degree in 2010. During this time, MSgt Longmire studied with Bo Newsome and Humbert Lucarelli.
 
MSgt Longmire has performed with numerous ensembles throughout her career. Some highlights performances include the premier of Jeff Scott's, Baile Si Quiere, for woodwind quintet and concert band, which was commissioned for the Band of the Air Force Reserve's 2012 Florida Tour.  Additionally, in 2015 MSgt Longmire performed Richard Strauss’ Oboe Concerto in d minor with the USAF Heritage of America band’s Concert Band on a tour in New York.  In addition to performing, MSgt Longmire has earned her 300-hour Yoga Teacher training through Yoga Alliance and regularly coaches musicians on performance health and wellness.
 
While serving in the Band of the Air Force Reserve, MSgt Longmire performed for the Armed Forces Radio Network's "Holiday Notes from Home" and Independence Day broadcasts with notable artists Wynonna Judd, Josh Turner, Clay Walker, Little Big Town, and Lee Ann Womack. These productions were broadcast to 177 countries worldwide and reached 60 million homes, promoting morale and support for troops and their families.
