Staff Sergeant Douglas Jones

Staff Sergeant Douglas Jones, performs on tuba with the Heritage of America Band and Heritage Brass located at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. A native of Sayville, NY, Jones is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music where he received his Bachelors of Music in 2013.  Currently, Sergeant Jones is completing a Masters in performance from the New England Conservatory.  His primary teachers throughout his collegiate career were Ronald Bishop (Cleveland Orchestra, retired), Yasuhito Sugiyama (Cleveland Orchestra), and Mike Roylance (Boston Symphony Orchestra). 

Before joining the Heritage of America Band, SSgt Jones was an active freelancer and educator in Boston, MA. He has performed with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Vermont Symphony, and the Massachusetts Symphony.  Currently, SrA Jones performs with the Kyodai Brass Quintet and maintains a private low brass studio in Hampton, VA.
